Coming Home Never Felt So Good
Nearly 3,000 alumni, parents, families and friends returned to Bentley for Homecoming and Fall Parents Weekend, held October 14 to 16. Against a perfect autumn backdrop, Falcons of all ages explored campus, enjoyed the company of old friends, spent time with students, and showed off their Bentley pride. Check out the highlights in our online photo album at www.bentley.edu/homecoming-fpw.
BBN Cleared for Take-off
On November 15, a group of enthusiastic alumni, parents and friends headed to Pratt & Whitney’s corporate headquarters in East Hartford, Conn., for a Bentley Business Networks (BBN) event. Hosts for the gathering were Bentley parents Gregory Hayes, senior vice president and CFO at Pratt & Whitney, and Peter Longo ’81, vice president and controller at United Technologies. In addition to networking and socializing, guests heard a special presentation on aerospace leadership from Robert Saia, vice president of the Next Generation Product Family at Pratt & Whitney.
Stroke of Generosity
The fifth annual Bentley Cup Golf Tournament was a smashing success! On October 11, more than 160 attendees — including alumni, trustees, faculty, staff and student volunteers — participated in the event, held at historic Woodland Golf Club in Newton, Mass. The tourney raised more than $126,000 to support the university’s General Scholarship Fund, which provides much-needed financial assistance to deserving students. In addition to enjoying a day on the course, attendees celebrated the 85th birthday of Chancellor and President Emeritus Gregory Adamian, during the post-tournament dinner and awards ceremony.
Reuniting in the 'Real World'
After four years together as undergraduates, even a few months apart can feel like a lifetime. More than 250 members of the Class of 2011 rekindled their bonds at a Zero-Year Reunion held during Homecoming and Fall Parents Weekend in mid-October. Classmates danced and reminisced the night away at Tequila Rain in Boston. These newest alumni are already looking forward to their 5th reunion!
Coaching Success
The Alumni Career Services team kicked off a new monthly workshop series – Coaching Conversations -- on November 7. Led by Boston-based executive coach Judy Campbell, the sessions serve alumni who want to address challenging issues in the workplace, boost emotional intelligence, and fine-tune interpersonal skills. The fall workshops were a big hit with all in attendance. Get in on the action and register to attend our February event at bentley.edu/alumnicalendar.
